Five Reasons to Vacation at Mo-Ranch

You can expect to spend 14 hours in the car driving across the state of Texas from one end to the other, which is one of the reasons you might hear the phrase, "Everything is bigger in Texas!". I was born and raised in Texas and I'm still discovering new places to visit. Once in a while Alex and I try to visit a new city or small town, but every year we go back to my favorite place on earth, Mo-Ranch. Today I'm sharing five reason why everyone should vacation there!

1. ACTIVITIES
Whether you are bringing the whole family, visiting with friends or coming for a couple's getaway there is something to do for everyone. Zip-lining, tennis, archery, disc golf, sand volleyball, swimming, hiking, water slide, canoeing, bike trails, a ropes course and more! Depending on where you're staying on site the river, pool, and playground are within walking distance. See all their offered activities here!

2. SCENERY
Nestled in the Texas Hill Country and along the Guadalupe River, Mo-Ranch is an absolute gem. I'm in awe of the land every time I visit, and it connects me to God as I get to see his creation in all its glory. We love going to Inspiration Point to take in the view and take family photos.

3. AFFORDABLE
The last few years we've rented a four bedroom lodge with three other families which makes it less than $300 per family for two nights. We each split up the meals and that's all we have to pay for, which makes a 3 day weekend affordable! Best part is it's a short scenic three hour drive from Austin.

4. QUALITY TIME
It never fails we lose cell phone signal when we arrive at camp, but honestly it's like a breath of fresh air to step away from our phones, iPads and computers for more than 48 hours. The common room of our lodge is where we cook and socialize after meals. We play games, tell stories, dance, laugh, and star gaze. Our children spend all their time outside using their imaginations, and it's a beautiful site to see.

5. TRADITION
As much as I want to take my kids on grand excursions across the world, I know we are creating just as many amazing memories close to home. My family took me to Mo-Ranch as a child and the experiences I had are some of my fondest life moments. A flood of emotions come over me every time I pull in to the camp. Every year Turner gets SO excited when leave for our trip, and I know one day he'll feel the same way I do now. We are keeping a family tradition alive.
