STAY:

There are almost 1,000 rooms at this property, and they range from double queens to 3 bedroom suites. See all the options here. Each room and suite is decorated with imported African art and artifacts, and the beds are extremely comfy. We had a double queen with a pull out sofa, and the room felt very spacious for our family of 5. There is a microwave and mini-fridge so definitely bring snacks! The King Bunk Suite would be super fun if you have small kids that like bunk beds (2 separate rooms - 1 bedroom with a king, 1 bedroom with bunk beds). Waterpark admission is included for all registered guests, and each person will get a wristband when they check in that will allow them in to the waterpark. If you don't plan on staying overnight you can buy day waterpark day passes here.

Indoor Waterpark

Kalahari's indoor waterpark will blow you away! There is something for everyone to do here. They have an amazing toddler/infant area called Tiko's Watering Hole, which includes a lazy river just for toddlers. Another area perfect for small kids is Coral cove which has a zero depth entry water play area, small slides, swings and other great spots for young ones to play. 

Flowrider is a 5 foot wave stimulator where you can surf or bodyboard. We loved the lazy river, and my older son did the large slides over and over again. Grotto Swim Up Bar is an adults only swim up bar and the perfect escape (must be 21 to enter). Check out all the list of water activities here!

This 80,000 sq. ft adventure park features a challenging ropes course, climbing wall, escape room, indoor zip line, bowling, laser tag and 250 of the very best arcade games. There are lots of rides for kids of all ages as well as a putt-putt course. These attractions are not included with your stay unlike the waterpark passes. You are welcome to come and play even if you aren't staying on the property, but prices are a tad higher.  See pricing and the full list of activities here.

They have a beautiful spa which offers body treatments, massages, facial, nail care and hair services. There is also a wet therapy room, dry sauna, steam room, Halotherapy Salt room, whirlpool, brow and lash bar, lounge space, and a spa specific outdoor pool. There are has 3 outdoor pools including a basketball pool perfect for kids! They offer full-service drinks and food outside, as well as an adults only bar and pool. You can also rent a private bungalow for a party or family gathering.

There are 20 onsite dining options including 5 signature restaurants! 

Double Cut - steakhouse and bourbon bar

Cinco Ninos - modern Mexican kitchen and tequileria. We ordered tacos for the kids and they came in the cutest dinosaur trays! Margaritas were delicious and we were entertained by a mariachi band. Loved the vibe of this restaurant and it had a great outdoor patio. 

Sortino's Italian Kitchen - Italian pasta, brick-oven pizza, caprese salad, fried calamari, lasagna and more! They have a large wine selection, delicious cocktails and a great kids menu. If you want a less formal meal, head to Pizzeria Sortino for wood-fired pizzas (this is a separate restaurant). 

B-Lux Grill and Bar - gourmet, handcrafted burgers and shakes. This 

Great Karoo Marketplace - Your go-to breakfast and lunch buffet with options for the pickiest eaters. We ate here for breakfast and I was blown away with the variety and how fresh everything was. It's open daily from 7:30am-12pm. 

The Last Bite - As you walk from your room to the arcade/waterpark you'll walk right past The Last Bite which serves homemade fudge, hand-dipped caramel apples, salt water taffy, ice cream and more. It was obviously my kids favorite spot!

DRINK

Redd's Piano Bar and Lounge - Piano bar with hand-crafted cocktails and a lively atmosphere. This place was hopping and full of fun! It has the coolest entrance which looks like you're walking through a private bookcase. Open 7pm-2am and is open to the public as well. 

Baobob Social - you won't miss this beautiful round bar as you walk in to Kalahari. It's the perfect spot to meet friends or enjoy a drink with your spouse after a long day. 

Even though I was only 10 minutes from home I felt like I had been completely transported. There are over 1,000 hand-selected pieces of African art, sculptures, furniture and textiles throughout the resort. You could spend days in Kalahari and be fully entertained!
