5 Ways To Beautify Your Yard

I can be easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes to updating your yard, but today I'm here to give you some ideas! You may not have the greenest grass or prettiest plants, but these tips can help give your yard a fresh look.

1. ) CREATE AN INVITING ENVIRONMENT:

I'm blessed to have wonderful neighbors that I enjoy spending time outside with almost every day.  Kids run from yard to yard playing, and often times the adults are searching for a place to sit down and relax.  By setting up a comfy and inviting spot in my front yard, I welcome those moments for conversation and fellowship. These chairs are comfy and modern, and I added a pop of color with this retro side table for drinks and snacks.

2.) ADD CHARACTER:

I love adding character to my yard by incorporating garden decor like this fun frog! I tend to decorate with modern pieces, but you should choose decor based on your style and personality. Don't be afraid to add color, and have fun with it! Garden gnomes, beach themed, flamingos, bird houses and more.

3.) ADD BASKETS FOR ORGANIZATION:

At any given time my yard looks like the kids sports section of Academy. Toys and sports gear EVERYWHERE! Adding baskets helps to organize all the junk and teach my son how to pick up after himself. You can also use baskets for plants or even garden tools that you need to access often.

 4.) ADD MULCH:

Mulch makes a HUGE difference to any yard. It immediately grooms the yard and makes it look 10x better. If you don't have a garden, you can still add mulch around trees. I'm going to let you in on a little secret! I had a TON of weeds in my garden beds, and in this stage of my life (twin newborns at home) I do not have and free time to pull weeds. So...my husband sprayed weed killer and added mulch. We'll see how long it takes for weeds to start popping through. Add dark mulch for a more drastic effect.

I added this metal pinwheel to my garden, and I love it's modern and neutral look.

5.) CREATE DIMENSION:

Add dimension and texture to your yard by using potted plants, baskets, wooden boxes and planters. I had a spot in my garden that was pretty boring, and I couldn't get plants to stay alive. So, I added these two potted plants and am obsessed! I honestly never thought to add planters to a garden (because I'm new to home owning), but it really adds a lot of appeal to my yard.

If you're lacking inspiration or ideas take a trip to At Home and snap some photos on your phone (that's what I do).  Go back to your yard, and see what items would look best. Don't be afraid to add color and texture! I hope these tips help you to beautify your yard.

This post is brought to you in partnership with At Home,  but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands I love!
