Happy Birthday to my favorite twins! When Alex and I started trying to have a second child, we NEVER imagined we would be pregnant with twins 😳. Watch how we find out here! When I was in high school I imagined myself as a CMO of a Fortune 500 company wearing a suit everyday to the office. I went to college, studied marketing, and went on to get my MBA. I married, moved to Austin, started my dream job and found out I was pregnant a few months later. I was elated to start a family, but I had no idea how it would drastically shift my career priorities. I leaned in, had a baby, leaned out, leaned back in, had twins, and well….it’s fuzzy after that. I’ve learned quite a bit these past 8 years about how to find work-life balance as a working mom. Here are my top tips!
Happy 3rd Birthday Walton & Whitney!
I won't say I can't believe they are 3, because really it feels like a long three years (this mom is tired)! It's become a bit of a tradition to take birthday photos with their adorable Little Blue Olive party hats, and this weekend we headed to Play for All Abilities Park to shoot. I had about one minute with them before they were DONE, and that was after I gave them a sucker ; ). Walt went right in for a kiss, and then my heart grew three sizes. They bicker like a married couple, but their adorable moments of friendship make the stress and lack of sleep worth it!
Our current ages - 31, 30, 5, 2 and 2. What an exciting time in our lives! I think I've been saying life is CRAZY for about two and a half years now. Basically the day Walt and Whitney were born was the day our lives changed for the better and busier. I'm thankful my friend, Jessica Rockowitz, was able to capture this stage of our lives.
I don't think a first-time mom will ever be fully prepared to drop their child off at school for the first time. Whether it's preschool or kindergarten. So many emotions. So many unknowns. When I started looking for a place to take Turner after he was born, I wasn't sure what to look for. Who would provide high quality care? Who could I trust?

It's no easy task trying to get family photos, especially trying to capture Walt and Whitney together. Thankfully we had an amazing photographer, Mckenzie Coronado, and a beautiful space to capture every shot for their second birthday.

Most people would probably say "I can't believe it's already been two years!", but it has definitely felt like two years. Every day since Walt and Whitney were born (minus a few kidless vacation days) have been LONG and hard. Don't get me wrong, I love my children, but man I feel like I've been continuously beat up from 2016 to 2018. I've aged dramatically, and get the most intense back/neck massages in the mall because my body aches from constantly carrying two 25 lb weights in each arm (sitting at a desk staring at a computer doesn't help). I thought it would be fun to share what I've learned the past two years!
7 years ago Alex and I bought our first mattress when we got married. We haven't bought a new one since, so we are very excited to partner with Wayfair to review their new NORA mattress!

Oh bedtime. Why oh why must it be so difficult? Why do our children torture us every night, looking so cute during the day and then waking up like evil monsters in the middle of the night wanting to destroy the sleep we cling so tight to? Why does it take SOOO long to get them to go to sleep? Recently I had enough and implemented a new bedtime routine for my 4 year old which I'm sharing with you today!
