To The Mom Feeling Guilty About Daycare

To all the moms out there who feel guilty about dropping your children off at daycare, I understand. All three of my children started full-time school at 12 weeks old. It's inevitable as a working mom you are going to feel that way, but I've learned a few things over the years that might help you feel better.

I've partnered with KinderCare for this post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. KinderCare is known as a school and not a daycare due to the level of care and service they provide to each child and family.

I'm not going to say you will never experience guilt, but I will say it gets easier. After my first son was born not working wasn't an option financially, but after we had twins I could have stayed home with all three of my children. I chose not to. I chose to continue working. I chose to continue pursuing my career path in marketing because I enjoyed it. Did I feel guilty? Yes, but I knew working would put my family in a better place financially in the future, and I believe I'm a better mom when I'm working. Check out my YouTube video to hear more about my decision to continue working.

Every mom has a unique situation. Some moms work from home and need for their children to be in full-time or part-time school to get their work done. There are also the moms who don't work, but want to send their child to part-time school so they can have a few hours to themselves during the week. I don't blame them! Whatever your situation may be know that you are NOT a terrible mom for putting your child in school.

Having a school you fully trust to watch your babies is a must. You need to know they will care for your child, love them and ultimately keep them safe. KinderCare recently opened a brand new facility in Round Rock, TX, and I can't say enough good things about it. Honestly it's the most beautiful school I've ever seen. Here are a few facts that really stood out to me as a parent.

- Meals are served family style so children practice communication skills, social skills and table manners (breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack).

- Fully secure center - they use biometric fingerprint access security doors throughout the building. I love this because I never remember the dang entry codes.

- Low ratios of students to teachers

- Leader in early education. KinderCare has been in the industry for 40 years, and each campus is a corporate school not a franchise.

- Floor to ceiling windows which allow natural light to flood the rooms supporting learning and development. Solar hubs adjust ambient light in the rooms automatically to maximize natural light.

- Highly educated staff. Every teacher has a background in education, and many have their bachelor degree. The staff makes  a 1 year commitment, which I love because turnover in a school is the worst.

I hate messes so I love that school gives my children the opportunity to get messy, paint, and do all sorts of fun activities they wouldn't get to do at home with me.  Also, I don't have a lot of toys or creative activities at my house. KinderCare has the coolest toys, games and activities, and the BEST part is I don't have to clean them up ; ). They even have a theatre and stage outside on the playground where kids can put on plays or talent shows. Is that not adorable?! Turner loves to be the center of attention, so I know he would LOVE to put on a show for his friends. They also have a mini basketball court, soccer field, and race track for tricycles. My sports loving son was in heaven.

Having piece of mind that you're children are happy and being provided quality care and education is imperative. Even if my children fuss on the way to school, I know they will have a great time with their teachers and friends. My mom worked full-time, and I never felt unloved. I can't even remember anything that happened before the age of 5, but I do know my mom loved me immensely and did what was best for our family.

If you are in the Round Rock, North Austin, or Pflugerville area definitely check out KinderCare Learning Center! They opened August 21 and are currently enrolling new students!

Wow, what a great facility! I'm a working mom with my first kid (one year old last month!) and the guilt is definitely there, especially since I work from home. But ya know, I tried to work and take care of babykid in the first 7 months and needless to say, very little work got done, so daycare became a necessity.

It seems like no matter what moms do, we experience guilt! Good for you for knowing what is best for you and your family! {high five} This facility looks amazing!

I'm not a mom, but I am fully aware of KinderCare. I have heard nothing but great things about them. Every weekend, we keep my niece, and she bounces between relatives while her parents are working. Unfortunately, she is starting to lack in social skills, and she hates being around new people. She's very advanced for her age, and we have been trying to figure out a good daycare to put her in. We all feel terrible, because she's so used to being with family 24/7. So, we're looking to only put her in a daycare part time, just so she can learn social skills.

I had guilt taking my kids to preschool. Its just hard to have them somewhere without you all day. This place looks really nice though! That helps.

I truly believe God hands us the perfect kids for us! There were definitely times I felt mom guilt for leaving mine at daycare but I am not the stay home mom type and my kids loved their daycare families so much.
