I'm excited to share with you details of our future kitchen renovation! Big things are going to happen to our home, and I'm looking forward to taking you on our major home renovation journey. I've partnered with Frost Bank to share this process and what financial steps we're going to take.

Alex and I purchased our first and current home 4 years ago. The housing market was insane, and people were paying cash and easily $25,000 over asking price. We didn't even look in Austin because it was way out of our budget, so we searched the suburbs. After 5 rejected offers, I got an MLS email and saw a beautiful one story, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, ranch style home with great bones. The inside was outdated with oak cabinets and hunter green walls, but I knew it had potential. I wanted to put in an offer without even stepping foot inside. My realtor suggested we see it in person, which we did within hours of it being posted and by the end of the day we made an offer. We were in a bidding war with a few other buyers. Thankfully the previous owner read our letter, and saw we had a young child. Turner wasn't almost a year old. The owner's neighbor had a 1 year old. She chose us because she tought we would get along with our neighbors. Boy was she right. We absolutely LOVE of our neighbors, and they have become our best friends.

With all that to say we also love our home, but there are some things I want to change. It was built in the early 80's and the living room and kitchen layout isn't ideal. We don't have a dining room, and we have a very small area for a dining table. Not ideal for someone who likes to entertain and throw large parties. Our fridge takes up a lot of space and there is not much room to move around when cooking. Our tile is cracked and outdated, and our white and speckled turquoise countertops aren't my favorite. This renovation isn't going to be a simple replace the backsplash and paint the cabinets type of renovation. We're talking about blowing out walls, raising our ceiling, moving plumbing, and replacing cabinets, appliances and flooring. We might even change the layout and structure of our living room which flows into the kitchen.
