Winter 10x10 Challenge Recap

The past 10 days I participated in Caroline Casey and Lee Vosburgh's Winter 10x10 challenge. You choose 10 items of clothing (including shoes, accessories not included) and create 10 outfits in 10 days. I was worried only mixing 10 items of clothing for 10 days would be BORING and I wouldn't have enough cute outfits, but I was surprised how much I loved it! Getting ready for work was extremely simple.

One tip I have is writing out each day's outfit Whether you stick to the schedule or not, it's nice to have each outfit laid out so you know exactly how you're going to style it. I had a sheet of paper where I wrote out each combo, and every morning I would glance at it and go from there.

For this challenge I wore the following items:

Tops:
- Leopard Tee (Jcrew sold out)
- Black and White Striped Tee
- Gray Sweater (similar)

Dress:
- Striped Dress

Layers:
- Green Cardigan (old Old Navy)
- Long Gray Cardigan (similar)

Bottoms:
- Distressed Jeans
- High Waisted Black Jeans

Shoes:
- Black Clogs
- Brown Boots

Accessories:
- Brown Tote
- Faux Leather Jacket (old Forever 21)
- Brown Wool Hat (old Cotton On)
- Green Wool Hat

During the challenge I took a good look at my closet and made a few decisions about staple pieces I wanted to mix and match this spring/summer (hello overalls). I realized I don't need a ton of items to make cute and fun outfits that make me feel good about myself, and no one notices what you're wearing even if it's the same dress or top over and over again. Oh, and accessories are a game changer when mixing up outfits! For the spring challenge I foresee lots of sunglasses, colorful purses, and bold jewelry.

It's been fun to see how other women participated in the challenge and what outfits they created! Check out #10x10friends or #winter10x10 on Instagram for some great inspiration. I'll keep you posted on when the spring challenge rolls around. I hope you'll join me!
