We stayed in the heart of the city at the Fairmont Dallas, and shared a room with our college besties, Sierra and Grant. I love vacations with friends especially when they are in the exact same stage of life! The Fairmont is surrounded by an array of restaurants, shopping, arts and entertainment. It's walking distance from the American Airlines Center and Klyde Warren Park which is great for kids. I didn't have a ton of time to hang out by the pool due to wedding activities, but it has a great view of downtown Dallas and a cute rooftop garden.
Our first night we ventured out to the Lower Greenville area, because I couldn't stop thinking about our meal at Gungho we had over 2 months ago. I kept dreaming of the moment we could come back and it was finally time! I wish I had a photo of the food but we ate inside and the lighting was very dark. All I can say is if you are in the area you MUST go! We ordered the pupu platter, orange chicken, crack chicken and the cocktails were fantastic! Make a reservation because it's very busy.
While we waited for our table we had dessert first at Botolino Gelato shop. I had the pistachio and it was freaking delicious! Alex initially turned his nose up to it, but once he tried it he was hooked.
That afternoon we went shopping at NorthPark Center, and then headed to Flower Mound for the wedding. After the reception we went to some local dive bar and pretty much ordered all the cheesy, fatty, bar food we could find!
Sunday morning Alex and I headed to the Bishop Arts District south of downtown for brunch. This area is adorable and has many delicious restaurants to choose from! We had the chicken and waffles and jalapeño biscuits & gravy from Hattie's (highly recommend)!
We enjoyed our last meal in peace and then headed up north to pick up our kids from the grandparents. It was a quick but fun weekend with college friends! Thank you to the Fairmont Dallas for hosting us!
