February Small Goals

January was a fun and hard month! I started off the month with a relaxing vacation to Angel Fire, but came back to a mountain of work. I'm seeing the light at the end of my email now, and I'm excited for the things to come..aka warmer temperatures.

JANUARY GOALS

1. STICK TO MY BUDGET
Well this was a bust, but I'm not going to give up! Read my January Budget Recap post to see where I failed with budgeting and how I hope to change it going in to February.

2. WORK HARD
My goal for January was to work my butt off at work. I'm always a hard worker, but this time of year is exceptionally busy. Most mornings I go in an hour or even two hours early to make sure I get all of my work done and respond to the massive amount of emails in my inbox. I have a very high touch role, and there's really no down time. It's exhausting having such a busy role and then coming home to three wild kids, but I'm hoping things will slow down soon!

3. PLAN 2019 TRAVEL
Alex and I don't have a big budget for travel this year as we're saving for a 10 year anniversary trip to Europe in 2010, but I did start brainstorming some small trips in Texas. I booked our annual neighbor trip to Mo-Ranch, and I'm hoping to visit Lakeway Resort and Spa for a girls trip, and Horseshoe Bay Resort.

4. CELEBRATE WALT & WHITNEY
Walt and Whitney turned three on January 14 and we had a full day of activities! Whitney had her first haircut, we played at the park, then we went to build-a-bear where Whitney chose a pink bear and named it Panda, and Walt chose a brown bear and named it Polar Bear. For dinner we went to Chuck E.' Cheese's and they had a blast playing games, dancing with Chuck E. Cheese, and eating pizza. This is going to be a big year of development for them...potty training, big kid beds, and more! Wish us luck ; )

5. CREATE A CHRISTMAS VIDEO
I had good intentions to make a Christmas video, but it was a busy month and I've been having issues with my iMovie which is where I make YouTube videos. It's still on my list, but I need to make a ski trip video first so we'll see. I need to free up my space on my computer, update my software, and then take to the Apple store to fix an issue I'm having with iMovie.

FEBRUARY GOALS:

1. EXERCISE 3 X WEEK
I joined Orange Theory's Transformation Challenge on January 21 and it officially ends March 17 (8 weeks total). Part of the challenge is to exercise three times a week for the entire 8 weeks. I've never taken a class till two weeks ago, and I'm having to get used to the treadmill which is where we spend almost 30 minutes of an hour long workout. Thankfully the running is split up in to high and low intensity intervals so it goes by pretty quickly. Have you ever taken an Orange Theory class? If you're Austin, New Braunfels, College Station, San Antonio area and are interested in trying it out use code "OTJESSE" for a FREE WEEK of classes (code expires March 17)!

2. VISIT THE DOCTOR
I was recently asked by a nurse when the last time I had been to my gynecologist, and I cringed when I said 3 years. Basically after Walt and Whitney were born I was done. I had been on birth control prior to getting pregnant with them, but after they were born Alex got a vasectomy. So basically I forgot to go because I didn't need to refill a prescription. My goal is to set up an appointment and get all the necessary tests/physicals.

3. NO SWEETS | SODA
Since joining the Orange Theory challenge I've really wanted to see a change
(working on abs) and I know a major downfall for me is eating the right foods. I crave chocolate and sweets pretty much every few hours so my goal is to cut them out completely till March 17. I also reach for a soda anytime I eat out or when there is a catered event at work so I'm cutting it for 8 weeks! I'm not going crazy and doing Whole30 or Keto but it's a start!

4. BRAINSTORM PANEL
You might have read a while back that I was selected to speak at Mom 2.0 in Austin this April. I am so stinking honored and excited! My friend Jamie, owner of C.R.A.F.T., and Jennifer, VP of Giant Noise PR, will be on the panel with me speaking about how influencers can work with PR agencies. My goal for February is to meet up and have our first in depth brainstorming session!

5. DECLUTTER MY PHOTOS
I take A LOT of photos every day on my phone, and many of them are screenshots or outfit photos. My goal is to delete any unwanted photos at the end of every day. I currently have 9,360 photos and 1,169 videos on my phone!
