Georgetown's food scene is growing every day, and so is the size of this town. Alex and I love going on date nights, and today I'm sharing our favorite restaurants!

GOLDEN RULE
New to Georgetown in the summer of 2020, Golden Rule is quickly becoming Georgetown's #1 restaurant and I highly agree! It's located just off the square at 605 S. Church Street, and has a great outdoor patio and speakeasy vibe on the inside. The owners and staff are extremely kind and attentive, and I've never had a bad experience. They serve a variety of cuisine including Texas fried gulf shrimp, glazed Brussel sprouts, candied pecan fried chicken, and steak frites. My favorite dishes are the deviled eggs, queso, and bologna sandwich! You might think I'm crazy for being obsessed with their bologna sandwich, but don't knock it till you try it.
They pride themselves on their craft cocktails and whiskey selection, which doesn't disappoint. My husband always orders an Old Fashioned or The Evelyn (rye whiskey, lemon, lime, sugar, egg white), and I order light and refreshing drinks including the Adios Maria (sotol, watermelon, lemon, elderflower) and the Le' Harrier (vodka, lemon, grapefruit, sugar). They don't have an official website, but you can see their full menu and hours here. I recommend making a reservation especially if you have a group of 4 or more.
2020 MARKET SCRATCH KITCHEN & BAR
Farm to table, locally sourced menu including Hatch Chile queso, shrimp ravioli, roasted beet and kale salad, burgers, shrimp and grits, enchiladas and my FAVORITE the stuffed trout (pan seared ruby red trout, blackened shrimp, lump crab, citrus caper mojo, garlic mashers, sautéed spinach). Everything on their menu is full of flavor and cooked fresh! They serve cocktails, draft beer and have an extensive wine list.
I love the upbeat atmosphere of this restaurant with a large wrap around patio, fire pit, and casual bar seating. They offer complimentary valet and happy hour is Monday through Friday 3-6pm. It's located at The Summit at Rivery Park which in itself is a great location. As you wait for your table or finish eating head to the outdoor area next door and enjoy live music on the weekends, corn hole, ping pong or grab a coffee from Rivery Coffeehouse.
EL MONUMENTO
By far the most beautiful patio and outdoor seating in Georgetown, El Monumento overlooks San Gabriel river and daunts a 7,700 sq. foot property. Its modern design includes four separate dining areas, an open kitchen, an interior courtyard and a dining pavilion with glass walls that overlook the courtyard.
Sourcing the freshest ingredients available, El Monumento serves home-style, made-from-scratch Mexican fare. Our favorites include the Queso Flameado (a blend of melted quesadilla and Oaxacan cheese, poblano peppers and caramelized onions), street tacos, Suiza enchiladas and street corn.
El Bar is the perfect spot for a cocktail or happy hour and they serve up the best margarita in town in my opinion. Happy Hour is daily 3-6pm. Check out their full menu here!
BLUE CORN HARVEST BAR & GRILL
Casual restaurant serving up authentic southwestern cuisine, Blue Corn Harvest has a great variety of dishes and the portions are large! Flash fried oyster shooters, farm fried chicken salad, blue corn tortilla soup, meat loaf, Tinga chicken relents, and a chipotle rib-eye are just a few of many entrees they offer!
They have a great variety of local and international wine and beer as well as cocktails. My favorite cocktails are the Blue Corn Margarita (512 Silver Tequila, Paula's Texas Orange, roasted pineapple, habanero syrup, cilantro and lime juice) and Giggle Water (Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, pomegranate juice and fresh basil).
