STAY
We stayed at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos which was about 30 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas. Our resort was located inside Puerto Los Cabos which is a resort community that is more relaxed than downtown Cabo. It stretches along the Sea of Cortez and is beautiful manicured!
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is an all-inclusive, adults-only luxury resort. Every room has a view of the Sea of Cortez and the beautiful Baja Desert. When I looked at the photos online I wasn't sure if I would like the desert vibe, but I was wrong. The landscape was breathtaking!
EAT
Because we payed for an all-inclusive resort we didn't leave to eat meals except for one day when we went to downtown Cabo San Lucas. Our resort had 5 restaurants and multiple bars and lounges. The subpar food was the only downside to our hotel experience. Everything lacked flavor except the chilaquiles with verde salsa I had for breakfast every morning. We did get to go to a Hibachi show/dinner our first night and the food was good, but you do have to wait in line the day of to reserve a spot. Near our hotel were two highly acclaimed restaurants, Flora Farms and Acre, but we didn't get a chance to try.
We wanted to leave the resort to experience more flavorful Mexican food and try some street tacos. We headed to downtown Cabo and ate at Tacos Guss (highly recommend their pork tacos). We stopped for a giant margarita at Monkey's Cave Bar and took a few shots at Slim's Elbow Room.
EXPLORE
Our hotel provided on-site activities including yoga on the beach, volleyball, water sports and a bike tour. The resort is also located on a golf course which was beautifully manicured and we heard has AMAZING food and drinks at every few holes! We spent most of our time lounging by the pool. I was a bit sad I couldn't get in the ocean due to dangerous tides, but I did enjoy walking in the sand.
We booked a 4 hour sailing trip through Cabo Adventures that included snorkeling and seeing the famous Arch (12 people max on the boat). Unfortunately our trip was cancelled last minute due to rain from the previous day. We decided to take an Uber into downtown Cabo anyway and explore downtown. We shopped, ate, drank and got really cheap massages! Down by the marina you can find lots of boats and all sorts of different adventures including camel/horseback riding, swimming with dolphins, and zip lining.
