I impatiently waited for Post Malone to release his F1-Trillion tour schedule and you can imagine my disappointment when Texas wasn't on the list. So I rallied with some girlfriends and we chose a non-stop destination to make it happen, because I haven't missed any of his tours since 2020 (last 4 albums). Raleigh was the destination of choice based on our schedules, and we turned it into a little early birthday trip for my 37th. Here's the story of one of my dreams coming true...not to be dramatic but it's true!
Can you remember the moment you started following your favorite artist? I remember the moment I saw a video of Post Malone singing Sunflower in 2018 and I was hooked. I immediately started listening to his music and the rest is history. I was drawn in to the style and hooks of his songs, his quirkiness, unique look and personality. His music makes me feel young, excited, and it basically screams Enneagram 7 party vibes! I attended my first concert just a few days before the world shut down for COVID in 2020 in Austin. I then saw him again in Austin in 2022 for his Twelve Carat tour, and in Houston in 2023 for his "If Y'all Weren't Here, I'd Be Crying" tour. I dressed up like him for Halloween and I feel like at some point identified as a #PostyMom. A mini-van driving mom who rocks out to his music.
I had hoped he would release a country album after recording a few songs with country artists that were shared across the internet, and when he announced F1-Trillion I was ecstatic! I wasn't sure what the album would sound like, but my expectations were exceeded. The album is 27 tracks and amazing in my opinion. I have listened to it every single day since it was released in August. Not to mention I'm obsessed with Post embracing the country style in his overall look. He has definitely gone through quite the transformation as he's aged, but I love that he owns his unique look with a full mouth grill, camo crocs, face tattoos, and a cowboy hat.
A month after we had bought tickets to Raleigh he added a few shows to his tour, and surprise surprise Texas was on the list. Soooo, I bought tickets for Austin because I knew he would put on a great show and it would be worth seeing twice.
Long story short, we arrived at the outdoor ampitheatre in Raleigh, and Tiffany and I headed to our seats which were not in the lawn but still a bit back in the seated area. I told my friend Tiffany, "These are good seats!" and not 2 minutes later we get a text from our friend Laura with a picture of her holding a cocktail in the pit. WHAT?!!! How did you get in there? We had joked before arriving at the concert that Laura would some how find a way to sneak in because she somehow ALWAYS gets down to the front at concerts, but I honestly did not think it was actually going to happen. I knew security would be tight. I won't go into the details, but after about an hour of trying to find "the right person" to gift us pit passes we were able to get in! I will never forget the moment when Tiff and I had our arms out and the security guard put them on our wrists. I immediately ran like a cockroach terrified they would get taken away from us.
We walked up to the pit 5 minutes before Post came on, and we were just a few people back from the front barricade. I asked my friends if they would capture some videos and photos because I wanted to be fully immersed in the concert and sing my heart out. They came through BIG time and took the most amazing footage of Post that I do rewatch! We obviously were giving major energy with our dancing and singing, and once Post made eye contact with us he kept coming back for lots of heart hands🫶! I would make a half heart with one of my hands and he would do the same with the opposite hand. It was the BEST night ever!
After his show he jumped down to the barricade and walked along signing as much as he could. He was so sweet engaging with every fan the best he could and spending time with each. I shouted "Austin! I'm going to see you in Austin in 2 weeks!", and that's when he looked up and said "Hell yeah!" and gave me a high-five! We chatted about Tecovas and the Broken Spoke and then he signed my camo hat, as well as all of my friends' caps. After the show we stuck around and ended up meeting his fiddle player.
Definitely a moment I couldn't have planned. Some people camped overnight to get a spot on the barricade, so the way it all fell in to place was amazing. I saw him two weeks later in Austin, but definitely was not as close and not in the PIT however we still had a wonderful night. Alex got to go with me which was his 4th time seeing him.

I love how you turned the disappointment of Texas not being on the original tour schedule into a whole girls’ trip. It’s pretty cool that you’ve followed Post Malone for so many years and have seen how his music and style have changed. And honestly, getting to see him in Raleigh and then finding out he was adding an Austin show must have felt like perfect timing. F1-Trillion sounds like it really lived up to the hype for you too. Definitely sounds like one of those trips you’ll remember for a long time. vincispin
