Plus One

This year our Valentine's Day celebration was not as romantic as in the past, but it was filled with even more love. Alex and I went out for dinner and brought Turner along (we're too cheap to hire a babysitter, so we just take him everywhere).  Alex gave me a beautiful watch, and I put together a gift basket of some of his favorite things (beef jerky, gun range gift certificate, reese's, etc.) and surprised him at work with it.  I love Valentine's Day, because I not only think of my relationship with my husband, but also with my family and friends. A tradition my family had when I grew up was my mom cooking blueberry streusel muffins. I absolutely loved waking up to the smell of those muffins, and I knew a sweet Valentine's day gift would be waiting for me on the dining table. My sister continues the tradition with her girls, and I want to as well (I'll start next year : ) ).

How did you celebrate Valentine's Day this year?
