Finding Peace In My Day

How many of you have chaotic schedules? I'm going to guess most of us, or at least that's how we feel. I've been thinking about the ways I find peace during my days, and I thought I would share.

1. I drive to work in silence.  For me it's the perfect time to talk to God, and to work through all of my thoughts.  Although, every once in a while I'll listen to the Bobby Bones Show, because Lunch Box is hilarious and a good laugh is a great way to start the morning as well. "Tell me something good!"

2. I get to take two 15 minute breaks during my day at work. One in the morning, and one in the afternoon.  Most people in my building read at their desk or get on the internet.  The last thing I want to do is sit in my freezing cubicle, so I had straight outside to DEFROST.  Not only is it a great way for me to warm up, especially when it's 100 degrees outside but I absolutely love the peace it brings me. I can pray, enjoy nature, think about things going on in life, talk to myself, and sometimes I'll call my family/friends to chat.

3. Exercise is a huge stress reliever for me, but finding the time and motivation lately has been rough.  I blame lack of sleep, and a tiring job that at the end of the day all I want to do is lay down.  However, I love the way I feel after a great work out.  I feel strong, proud, less stressed, and overall more relaxed and at peace with my day.  I usually work out in the afternoon after work, so it's a good way to finish out my day strong.  I worked hard, exercised hard and now I can treat myself with a good meal and relaxation.

Below are a few snapshots of my view around my office when I take my daily walks.

Life can be crazy and hectic, but at some point we have to slow down and take a step back to live in the moment.  I believe silence, nature and exercise have a major impact on me. What are ways you find peace during your day?
