Why We Don't Co-Sleep + Nora Mattress Review

7 years ago Alex and I bought our first mattress when we got married. We haven't bought a new one since, so we are very excited to partner with Wayfair to review their new NORA mattress!

Out of all the rooms in our home our master bedroom is the only place that's not overrun with kids' junk. I try my hardest to keep it clean as it's a place for Alex and I to relax after a long day of work and taking care of kids.  I know many parents who co-sleep and this is not one of those posts where I tell you why you should or shouldn't co-sleep. I don't care either way. The number one reason Turner never slept in our bed when he was a baby was because I am a light sleeper and I couldn't get any sleep when he was in my bed. Every time he whimpered I would wake up and have crazy anxiety. We've actually NEVER used a baby monitor...never. We've always lived in a one story home and our rooms aren't far apart so that helps. Believe me, I know when I need to wake up when I hear my children crying. When Turner was 3 and 4 he would sneak in to our room at least once or twice a week in the middle of the night. Most nights I would take him back to his bed so he would understand he can't sleep in mom and dad's bed, but many nights I was so tired I would just trade with him and go sleep in his twin bed. When I'm sick I usually let him sleep in my bed with Alex, and I'll sleep in his bed so I can get 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Alex and I have only had a queen bed since we married in 2010. He would love to have a king mattress but I've refused because I enjoy the extra space in our room, and I enjoy cuddling ; ). The Nora mattress is extremely soft yet firm, and has a jade infused cover so it stays several degrees cooler than your average mattress. It comes in a box, is very affordable, and ships in two days! This mattress also has gel-infused memory foam and high density support foam for a plusher surface and the perfect balance of support and pressure relief (goodbye aching shoulders and hips). Best part is you can try it out for up to 100 days and if you aren't satisfied you can return for a full refund.

Whether you let your kids sleep in your bed or not, everyone will enjoy this mattress!
