May Small Goals

April was a great month with two date nights, Austin Fashion Week, a Hydrafacial at Viva Day Spa, Turner's first t-ball game, Alex turning 30, and last but not least a work/girl's trip to Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona! It was a busy and fun month. See what goals I accomplished in April and what I have planned for May!

APRIL GOALS

1. 30 DAY SQUAT CHALLENGE
100 squats every day for 30 days, COMPLETE! I did miss a couple of days, but overall I stuck with it and saw results after 20 days. I didn't take any measurements but I noticed my butt was lifted and my thighs were more defined. Keep reading for my May fitness challenge!

2. SIGN TURNER UP FOR KINDERGARTEN
I signed him up online, but there's one step left which is taking all of his paperwork to the school (birth certificate, proof of residency, etc). He'll be graduating from his pre-k school in May and will start their Kinder program which costs less...whoo hoo!

3. MAKE A BUDGET
Unfortunately we didn't get around to making a budget. For the longest time we had planned on doing it on a date night, but once the date night rolled around Alex didn't want to take his laptop and work on it around a bunch of people. We have spent a lot less, but we still need to sit down and make one.

4. CELEBRATE ALEX
Alex's happened to be in town on the weekend before his 30th so we celebrated with a delicious Italian dinner at Olive and June, dancing at the Broken Spoke, partying on 6th street, and we stayed at a hotel downtown. We hired our first babysitter, and she did great! Alex's dad and grandma stayed overnight with the kids and we came home around noon the next day after a relaxing breakfast at L'estelle House.

5. PLAN THE 10TH ATX BLOGGER MIXER
I had an AMAZING venue in mind and after a few weeks of back and forth trying to set up a call with the company/location we had our call and I found out their capacity was too small.  There wouldn't be enough room to invite even 50 bloggers so I had to pass. Honestly I was so bummed I lost a bit of motivation for planning. I have reached out to another venue, and will soon discuss details. The first step in planning my mixers is always the location (confirm the date/time), then the speaker (I have an amazing speaker in mind), and then the sponsors (food, drink, giveaways).

MAY GOALS

1. FILM TWO YOUTUBE VIDEOS
I'm working on a few fun projects and I need to create a couple of YouTube videos. YouTube takes much more time than a blog post, so this month my goal is to take the time to record and edit them. My videos aren't Casey Neistat quality but at least I'm trying! Subscribe to my YouTube channel HERE! I'm thinking about doing some day in the life videos, but not sure if I have time.

2. FINISH OUR FAMILY YEARBOOK
I sound like a broken record on this one, but dang it I'm going to finish our family yearbook. I use Shutterfly to make it, which is super user friendly, I just have SO many photos to go through and I like to write in the books as well. I will likely need to dedicate about 4-5 hours to finishing it.

3. PITCH OUR ANNIVERSARY TRIP
Alex and I aren't going on an expensive anniversary trip (we've done California, New York and Mexico in the past) since we're trying to get out of debt, but we are going to do a mini getaway north of where we live in Georgetown, TX. It's a super cute Texas town with a picturesque square. I've been able to get a two night hotel stay for free, and now I want to pitch a few restaurants and activities. Maybe a trip to the spa, some wine tasting, a round of golf or kayaking on the water? We will have two full days to do whatever we want, and I'm excited for some quality time with Alex. We will celebrate 8 years of marriage on May 22!

4. PUSHUP CHALLENGE
Since I really enjoyed the squat challenge last month I wanted to do another fitness challenge. I've decided to do 25 pushups everyday for the month of May. 25 reps may not seem like a lot but I won't be doing them on my knees which is how I normally do pushups. This challenge is simply a fun way to get up and get my body moving in the morning and at night. I'm hoping the new gym I joined will open this month as well!

5. BUILD MY SHOP PAGE
I have been trying to add a "Shop My Feed" page on my blog for the past couple of months, and for some reason I can't figure it out. I want to have one central place to send my readers to see my daily outfits. If anyone has any advice, please help!
