How I Stay Organized As A Working Mom

This post is sponsored by Zebra Pen. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As a full-time marketer and mom of three my life is constantly moving at high speed which is why being organized is an absolute MUST! I believe organization and being able to prioritize is KEY to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I'm partnering with Zebra Pen to share some tips on how I stay on schedule and balance all that life throws at me.

People often ask me, "How do you do it all?" Blogging part-time, working full-time, having a social life, exercising, and raising three young children. First, I will say that I'm naturally fast-paced and have a very energetic personality. I'm always looking for the next thing, working on the next project, planning the next trip, networking for the next job. I sit still but not for very long ; ).

I know many people use their phones to keep them organized but I don't. Call me old fashioned but I HAVE to write down my schedule, my goals and my thoughts. There are many benefits to putting pen to paper such as the ability to focus, process emotions and thoughts, and clear your mind! I prefer a monthly calendar vs. a weekly calendar. It's simple and I can see my entire month on one page. I always have pens in my purse and in my laptop bag ready to jot down a note or thought at any moment. If you write things down YOU KNOW the feeling of a premium ink pen in your hand, which is exactly what a Zebra Pen is. They are durable, refillable, stylish and words flow easily when I write with one! In these photos I'm writing with the Sarasa® Grand Retractable Pen which is available in black ink and multiple barrel colors. Check out more information here to see how you can Choose Different! My husband and I don't share the same written calendar so for things I need him to be involved with, I will add it to our phone's calendar.

In my calendar I write down all meetings, school functions, sports games, date nights, lessons and social activities. I also write down deadlines for blog collaborations. I always choose a planner that has space on the side and back to write down goals and miscellaneous notes. I use this space to write out monthly goals, post ideas, and inspirational quotes I hear.

You can find me writing ALL day on paper. There are sticky notes all over my desk at work, and I love crossing things off my list. Something I've done since I started my career, which also helps with blogging is to write down my to-do list EVERY day. I list the most important and time sensitive task at the top and work down. I cross of each item when it's complete and go from there. It's extremely satisfying being able to cross off a to-do list! My Sarasa® Zebra Pen is smudge free, has a metal push clip, and the metal barrel helps with holding.

Writing things down in my planner helps me to plan for my future and prioritize what I really want to do that month. I can see where I'm spending too much time and not enough time. I'm intentional every time I put the Sarasa® Grand Gel Retractable Pen to the paper and the ink starts to flow! There will be times when a ball drops and you will forget something, but we are human and it happens!
