Holiday Plans + My Christmas Wish List

After Alex and I were married we began switching major holidays with family. My family lives 2 hours south of Austin and Alex's family lives 4 hours north of Austin. So unfortunately we can't celebrate with both sides during the same time. I grew up doing the same as a kid, driving to one side of the family and switching it up every year. Thankfully we don't have to fly anywhere for the holidays.

THANKSGIVING
This year we'll be hosting our first Thanksgiving with Alex's side! It will be the very first time we haven't traveled for Thanksgiving in 10 years and I'm beyond excited. Goodbye i35! I'm not excited about cooking, but that's why I've outsourced a ton! We ordered a smoked turkey and sides including dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and a pie. Alex and I will make Mac and cheese, salad, bake rolls and I'm sure we'll throw together a few more things.

I actually have the ENTIRE week off of work for Thanksgiving this year. I started thinking back to vacations and this will be the longest I've taken off from work in 5 years! This is when childcare really pays off, because Turner will go to the YMCA Monday and Tuesday, and my twins will go to school Monday through Wednesday. So basically I have Monday and Tuesday free to myself for 7 hours. It goes by fast, but I plan on taking full advantage of that time! I'm hoping Alex will get off too and we can have a day date.

On Black Friday instead of shopping we'll be heading to Marble Falls to spend the weekend at Horseshoe Bay Resort! We went around the same time last year and had a blast! Here's a recap of our stay.

CHRISTMAS
How many times can you see Santa in a month before your kids realize Santa is not the same person? There are so many local events happening in Georgetown that I can't wait to take the kids to! I am also hosting a Favorite Things Party in early December because 1.) I need a reason to wear sequins 2.) I want to see all my friends 3.) I love parties. I plan on making an epic cheese board!

Alex is having a work Christmas party and it's Saloon themed. Really? All I want to do is wear something festive and sparkly and that is the theme!!?? On the bright side my mom is watching the kids and we are staying at the Fairmont for the night #parentsnightout!

I'm taking off the entire week of Christmas and the days leading up to New Year's Day because I have a ton of vacation left! We'll be heading to my hometown for Christmas, and then hopefully taking a short vacation a few days later. I'm still planning but it might fall through.

Here's my Christmas Wish List!

- Handheld Vacuum (I'm old)
- Light Weight Short Down Jacket
- Top Shop beanie in black and grey (my all time fav beanie)
- Frye Veronica Booties
- NuFACE Mini (facial toning device)
- Facetory subscription (4 Korean beauty sheet masks sent to my home every month...yes please!)
