Meet my style icon. I believe style begins at your roots, and thankfully my mother had impeccable style. She has a natural and casual beauty about her, and her style is simple yet sophisticated. I love it when I wear a pair of platforms, and she tells me she used to have a pair that looked exactly the same but made out of snake skin. Ah, I wish she would have saved some of her amazing clothes for me.
I tried to wear her wedding dress for my big day, but it was way too tiny. I absolutely love the hood, and it was detachable.
She was hippie, raised on a farm that married a cowboy. Love her short hair.
My go to outfit as a child - Paint blotted spandex one piece, blue jean skirt, and a pair of pink dyed cowboy boots. Thanks mom for always letting me dress myself, even if I looked absolutely crazy. You taught me what it truly means to have my own style.

I love this post. I never realized how much you look like your mother!!
Great post! Your mom is quite stylish and I love your term "casual beauty." Yall look so similar!
omg this is such a sweet post... your mom sounds like an absolute style icon!! honestly letting kids dress themselves is the best way to build confidence... anyway, i know this is a bit off topic but since you mentioned unique styles, it made me think of a beauty struggle i’m having right now. i’m a lash tech and i have a new client whose natural lashes are practically looping backwards... they are so curly like crazy. i tried putting normal C curls on her but the bases won't attach right... what should i order from a lash supply store to fix this mapping issue? has anyone dealt with this??
Yesss, those crazy curly natural lashes are such a headache to map, but don’t stress, it’s totally fixable! The reason C curls are failing you is because the bases literally cross each other, so you get zero attachment area and awful retention.
You need to look for L+ or M curls next time you restock. They have a straight, flat base that sits perfectly flush against those looping natural lashes before curling up. Also, a quick pro-tip: try attaching from the side or underneath instead of the top, it helps lock the base down so much better.
Honestly, if you want to save yourself the headache with those crazy curls, it all comes down to the quality of the bases. I used to struggle with placement on looping lashes too until I switched up my inventory.
I’ve been ordering all my supplies from https://stacylash.com/ for over a year now, and their M and L curls are literal lifesavers for tricky mapping. The bases are incredibly consistent and grab the natural lash perfectly, so you don't have to fight with the attachment. Definitely grab a mix tray of those and see how your retention completely changes.
