Mama's Day 2013

This past weekend we took a road trip to Odessa to visit my grandparents.  I love when I drive on a TX road I've never been on, which we took a few on the way to Odessa. The drive was absolutely beautiful as we went through numerous types of Texas terrain...hill country, plains, desert (at least that's what it looked like).  I'm always in awe of the Texas landscape.

Sunday, I was able to celebrate Mother's Day not only with Turner, but my Mom and Gram as well. I'm very thankful I was able to hug them and tell them how grateful I am for their love and selfless ervice all these years.  Since Turner can't pull off much of a gift yet, Alex had to pull the weight, and he did a great job!  I got a awesome pair of nike golf shoes, and the sweetest photo album with pics of Turner and I.  He also included some not so hot labor shots of me. When I saw them I looked over at Alex and gave him the "eye" and he said, "Hey, it's part of mother hood. It needs to be included." I guess I'll cut him some slack.

On our 6 hour drive home, I sang to Turner and rubbed his arms and legs as he froze like a statue. I stared in to his eyes I swear for 10 minutes straight, and my face seriously hurt from smiling so much.  Life is so short, and I want to soak up every moment.  Thank you Lord for my first Mother's Day.
