The last time the 5 of us took a photo together the babies were 5lbs each and only a few days old, so I was extremely excited for this Fall shoot with Laura Morsman! Can you believe she got all these great shots in 15 minutes?! That's Laura working here mini session magic for you!
I received lots of compliments on our outfits so I thought I would give
you my tips for coordinating family outfits. First off let me say that
going from 3 outfits to 5 outfits was a big jump, and I was overwhelmed
at first.
1.) Start with finding an outfit you love whether that be for you or one of your family members. Who's the most difficult person to dress in your family? I happened to find this babydoll dress from Loft, and immediately fell in love with the colors and style. I knew I could tie in the other outfits easily since the dress had deep hues and lots of fall colors to choose from.
2.) My advice would be to stick two patterns, and try not to be too matchy matchy. So long are the days when the whole family wears white shirts and jeans! I would have loved for Turner to wear some khaki joggers, but he refused to wear anything but jeans. Halfway through the shoot he decided he didn't want to wear his cardigan, and I was too overwhelmed with babies to care.
3.) Bribery. Yes, I said it. If your kid refuses to wear the outfit on the day of the shoot, well dang it, tell them you'll take them for ice cream after!
Thank you Laura for these beautiful photos we will cherish forever! I can't wait to make Christmas cards.

These are so beautiful!!!
You did an awesome job with the outfits and the location! And I want that couch! We are taking our family pictures this weekend. I always get nervous beforehand. Yours turned out really awesome. Oh, and yes, I always bribe Rooney. She knows this is the one time I get to choose her outfit no matter what!
