I'm not super creative when it comes to Halloween costumes, and I'm definitely not the type of parent who will make custom costumes for my children. With twins it's like Halloween gold...you can't not choose an adorable outfit.
I was searching Etsy when I discovered the shop, VeryChicBaby, and this beautiful Dorothy costume! I knew Whitney would look adorable in it, and the next week I found a lion costume for Walt for $4 at Once Upon a Child. Whitney's glitter bow is from Blushing Bows (super affordable bows), and her shoes are from Target.
I tried to get Turner to join in with the Wizard of Oz theme, but he
wanted to be a ninja turtle. But who knows, he changes his mind every
day. We have a few costumes in his closet, so we'll just grab which ever
one he feels like wearing tonight.
I only got a couple of pictures where Whitney wasn't clawing at Walt's mane or trying to grab him. She was obsessed, and couldn't stop staring at him. If she could talk I'm sure she would say, "Brother, what's on your head?"
Jenny, the owner of VeryChicBaby, hand-makes every custom dress! Whitney's costume has a white full twirling peasant dress with vintage lace at the bottom, and her blue apron ties in a big bow in the back. A few other dresses I love are the Circus Ringmaster, Merida from Brave, Raggedy Ann Doll and Alice in Wonderland. These are dresses your kids will play dress up in year round, and because they are such high quality you can keep for their future children.
