Choosing To Take It Easy This Christmas

Last Christmas I had an advent calendar for Turner, decorated my entire house, did tons of holiday themed activities, and hosted a Favorite Things Christmas Party for my closest friends. This year I was lucky enough to get a tree up and decorated. I'm taking it easy this year, and that's OK.

Deep inside I so badly want to host a holiday party, go all out with decor and bake Christmas
treats (or try to), but in this season of our lives I can't. Well I can, but life wouldn't be very pleasant. The stress is not worth it. My three kids  + my full time job + blogging keep me VERY busy, so I have to be very picky what I choose to say yes to. And right now I have to say no to things I wish I didn't have to.  Next year could look a lot different who knows, although two almost two year olds sounds like trouble!

Being intentional with my time is more important than ever right now. For someone who likes to do EVERYTHING...this is hard. Are you like me? What have you had to say no to this year? We did manage to squeeze in pictures with Santa which is the very first time we've ever done that (thanks to a blogging promo).

Are you in a stage of life similar to mine or maybe this year you've decided to take it easy? Was it a hard and intentional decision for you?

*** 3 days after I wrote this post I was in an at fault car wreck that will likely total my car. I was in the hustle and bustle of getting my family to a Christmas event in downtown Austin. Note to self...listen to my own advice and stop doing so much. Take it easy! Thankfully everyone was ok. ***
