April Small Goals

I was apprehensive to start writing out monthly goals, but since I started last month it's been a GAME CHANGER! There are a few goals on here that I would have never accomplished had I not written them down and had some accountability to get them done. Check out what I accomplished and what I'm working towards for April!

MARCH GOALS:

1. TAKE A PUREBARRE CLASS TWICE A WEEK
DONE and my booty is being lifted ; ) I've also started incorporating a spin class in every week or so. I hadn't worked out in over a year, and I was OK with it.  Now I feel weird if I go more than two days without exercising. It's amazing how our bodies crave exercise once we introduce it in to our daily lives.

2. HAVE COFFEE WITH SOMEONE WHO INSPIRES ME
DONE. I had lunch with Stephanie Carls, super amazing YouTuber, and virtual friend I've known for TWO years but have never met in person even though we both live in Austin.

3. GO ON A DATE WITH ALEX
Whoops....couldn't find the time or energy to escape for a date this month. Counting down the days till our Mexico vacation.

4. DESIGN AND ORDER OUR 2016 FAMILY YEARBOOK:
Done. I have sooo many photos and it's hard for me to include everything, but I finally settled and threw it together! I use Shutterfly (not sponsored) and print a 12x12 hard cover book, which came out to $55 including tax.

5. PLAN THE 9th ATX BLOGGER MIXER
Done. Not only did I plan the mixer but I hosted it as well. This mixer came together VERY quickly, and I kept it low key but it was a lot of fun. No speaker and no giveaways, but an awesome workout at SoulCycle and great swag for all guests!

APRIL GOALS:

1.) PITCH A DREAM BRAND
With my recent no shopping ban, I've started pitching more brands that I usually would shy away from contacting. It's been amazing to see the response, and I would love to pitch a few home decor brands.

2.)  FINISH WRITING ABOUT MY DAD
It's been almost 4 months since my Dad unexpectedly passed away. I told myself I wanted to write down the last moments and memories I had of our time together, and what happened in the end so I never forget. Honestly, I doubt I'll forget any detail, but I want my children to be able to read about it. I started writing about it last month, and want to finish but it's extremely hard to find time alone where I can cry and write. It's an extremely emotional process and honestly it's not something I want to do but I feel like I must.

3.) FIGURE OUT PINTEREST
Group boards and scheduling posts is a whole other world when it comes to Pinterest, but I know it would be a game changer for my blog and bring in more monthly page views. This would also be great for my affiliate marketing partnerships, so I really need to figure Pinterest out. Time is the problem, and the lack of desire. But hey, that's what these goals are for!

4.) SIDE HUSTLE / EXTRA INCOME
I'm going to be honest and say that our financial situation is TOUGH right now. After daycare and bills we barely have any money leftover. I am in desperate need of a new laptop and camera, and would love to start earning some extra income so I can save up to buy them. I'm not sure what my side hustle will be but I need to bring in more money every month. Social media contract work? More sponsored posts? Any ideas?!

5.) GET A HAIRCUT
This might seem like a ridiculous goal, but it's extremely hard finding the time to sit for 2 hours and get my hair done. It's also EXTREMELY expensive and hard for me to pull the trigger on spending so much money on something that is going to grow right back. But ggggiiiirrrrrllllll....I want my hair to look good!

Now tell me, what goals do you have for April or in general for the year? Big or small I'd love to hear!

I love your goals! I'm a very goal-oriented person so writing them down is key for me. I've found that when I don't, I flounder!

I understand how hard it is to write about your dad. Be patient with yourself. I only recently was able to write a post about a big loss that we experienced after Randy. It is a very cathartic, but extremely difficult process. When I wrote about Randy in the beginning, I did it in very small pieces! You will get there!!

I am wanting to learn about Pinterest too. I hope you get it figured out!!

Being a working mom can be so overwhelming! You are doing a great job!!

Helene from Helene from In Between posted a bunch of work from home job sites you should check out. I don't remember exactly the date but I looked at some of the sites and think you could do stuff during the day, morning or evening. And you should totally do some grief therapy! I lost my Dad in October and it really changed therapy has helped tremendously. Many health insurance providers will pay too.

Loving how the no shopping ban has turned into pitching brands. That's so exciting, I wish I had more time to be doing this right now. Maybe after The Blog Connect Conference is over. You've got some incredible goals upcoming for this month, a great combination of good for the business and good for the soul - best of luck on them.

I had also forgotten about your "have coffee with someone who inspires me." I really need to get on that.
