A few weeks ago Turner and I visited the Thinkery for the very first time thanks to a Mega Playdate hosted by Nick Jr. and Mom.me. I picked Turner up from school and we headed out to meet some of my local mom blog friends and their adorable kiddos.
Nick Jr. had set up super fun interactive play areas based off two shows, Shimmer and Shine and Blaze & The Monster Machines. Turner mostly wanted to play with the cars, but the Shimmer and Shine girls were adorable!
Shimmer and Shine is an animated preschool series that follows the magical adventures of
twin genies-in-training Shimmer and Shine and their human best friend, Leah. The series features a social-emotional curriculum highlighting the importance of teamwork, resilience and overcoming obstacles.
Turner was obviously all about the build your own cupcake bar, and his final concoction included a chocolate filled, chocolate icing cupcake with oreos and gummies on the top.
I loved getting to meet the kids of my mom blog friends. I feel like I know them because of my extreme Instagram stalking, so when I finally meet them in person, I'm like "Hey I know you!" and then I get the stranger danger look.

Turner does love time on the iPad, and most days after
school he will watch about an hour (broken up through the evening) of
TV. The weekends are another story, I mean to be honest these days I'm
in survival mode with the babies, so some weekends I will let Turner
watch the iPad all morning. I balance it out with time outside, but
goodness sometimes I need a break. Thankfully shows like Blaze and
Shimmer and Shine help me to know that he's actually learning something.
