June Small Goals

I can't believe it's already June, and I know this month is going to fly by! Honestly, when you're kids are in daycare and you work full-time but aren't a teacher the summers kind of feel like the rest of the year. My goals this month are pretty laid back as I want to focus on taking it slower this month. Check them out below and see what I accomplished in May!

MAY GOALS:

1.) SHOOT A HOME DECOR POST
Didn't happen. I have yet to do any home renovation projects since our garage, and even that wasn't really our project. My kitchen has seriously been grossing me out the past few months. I keep thinking I have two options 1.) Gut it and completely build a new one 2.) Buy a new house solely for a nice kitchen. In reality I can't do either of those because I have no money, so my option is to clean it as best I can and make sure the lights never come on so I don't have to see the flaws ; ).

2.) KEEP UP THE EXERCISE
Done. Mexico was my motivation for continuing to exercise. I had a 5 class pass for Soul Cycle which I used all of, and I took a few Barre classes. It's been a week since I've exercised and I already feel out of shape.

3.) LEARN HOW TO USE MY NEW CAMERA
Done. I'm not someone who likes to learn from YouTube or reading a manual. I want someone to show me in person how to do something, and I have to be shown over and over again for it to stick. Because of that I asked my friend, McKenzie Coronado, who is a professional photographer to give Alex and I a private lesson. She shoots with a Canon and does a lot of family photography. I loved hearing her tips, and wish I could have spent more time learning but my kids woke up from their naps and it all went down hill from there. I did take this palm tree photo in Mexico!

4.) MAKE MORE YOUTUBE VIDEOS
Done. I did film more YouTube videos, but my producer/editor (AKA Alex) is seriously slacking. I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to sit and listen to me talk in a closet over and over again.

5.) PARTY MY BUTT OFF IN MEXICO WITH ALEX!
Done and Done! I almost took my laptop, but ended up leaving it behind. I checked my phone a couple of times a day, and fully enjoyed doing nothing. Alex and I had such a fun and relaxing trip, and can't wait to plan our next! We're thinking somewhere in the United States. Hiking/camping in Wyoming, Lake Tahoe, Boston/Cape Cod or maybe D.C. So many places we still want to see in the U.S. although a tropical vacation to Costa Rica sounds pretty nice.

MAY GOALS:

1.) HAVE LUNCH WITH SOMEONE I SOCIALLY STALK
Does that sound weird? Probably so, but it's true. There are many friends I've made online that I've never met in person. I would love to set up lunch with someone who inspires me.

2.) MAKE A DENTIST APPOINTMENT
My Mom recently retired from years of being a Dental Hygienist, and with her retirement went my free teeth cleanings. If you're reading this Mom, don't worry. I don't mind paying my co-pay ; ). With all that to say, I know I have a few cavities because eating candy and chocolate hurts. I've always been prone to cavities.

3.) PITCH A TRAVEL BRAND
I have a very specific company in mind that I would LOVE to partner with. I don't know if they even work with bloggers. I still have a lot of research to do. I want to write and publish my Mexico vacation post plus finish my YouTube video of the trip. Then I'll work on drafting my pitch email including previous travel posts and videos I've created. Worst they can say is no so it's worth trying!

4.) NOT PURCHASE ANY CLOTHES
June is my last month of my 6 Month No Shopping Challenge. Over the past few months I have purchased a few items, so this last month I want to finish strong. The goal was to focus on experiences rather than things, and to also save money. It's taking everything within me to not buy this top!

5.) TAKE IT SLOW
May was extremely busy month with work, blogging events, and traveling. I've got one more trip next week for work (Portland and Seattle) and then I'm hoping to take it slow for the rest of June. I have no weekend or vacations plans. I'm having to say no to more events and choosing to not go to a workout class, so I can stay home to relax with my family.
