Abilene Weekend

This weekend we traveled north to Abilene to celebrate my best friend, Sierra, and her first baby, Luke.  We arrived on Thursday, so I was able to hit up some of my favorite Abilene antique stores on Friday.  I bought a beautiful wooden globe ($15) for Turner's future big boy room, a beautiful southwestern rug for my brother ($8), and a wooden chess board ($5) also for Turner's room.  I walked away from many beautiful items...so hard to do.  You can't find items like these in Austin priced so low.

$42 - Vintage tea/bar cart
$25 - This would be cute for a neutral nursery
$60 - I'm thinking about doing a mirror wall in one of our rooms.
$10 - Would love to spray paint this and use it for a little girl's nursery
$25 - Hand embroidered clock. Such a unique item.
$25 - Large mirrors (amazing price for the size)
$125 - Absolutely stunning peacock quilt

Saturday, we celebrated baby Luke, who is due March 13!  Turner can't wait to meet his new best friend.  I enjoyed catching up with friends from college.

Sunday, it started to snow/sleet early in the morning so we headed back to Austin early to beat the dangerous roads (it was 80 degrees on Saturday) . Once we arrived home, we all took a much needed 2 hour nap (Turner was extremely fussy all weekend due to two new little teeth).  All in all it was a relaxing and fun weekend with friends.  Next time I'm in Abilene, it will be to meet Mr. Luke!

Happy Weekend

Hello Monday! We spent the weekend in Austin, which felt weird.  We always seem to be going somewhere, so I really don't know what to do with myself when I'm at home with no plans.

Friday night Alex went out with a buddy, while Turner and I had a date to Target.  He experienced sitting in a cart for the first time.  I think he enjoyed it. He kept trying to grab everything we passed by. That night he stayed up past 9pm which is very abnormal for him (I'm used to 7). The summer sun has definitely thrown his sleep schedule off.  In the pic below he's resisting sleep at all costs, and I was lounging on the couch trying to get a break.

Saturday morning I checked hiking the Green Belt off of my summer bucket list, and for lunch we tried out Kome for the first time w/my brother and sis-in-law.  Turner enjoyed hanging w/his hip aunt & uncle, and enjoyed the sound of my brother's bass.  You can see my Saturday outdoor outfit below...it was actually a great outfit to wear to the Domain.  Kept me cool and comfy while shopping...window shopping that is.  I was on a mission to find these pants at Zara, but of course they didn't have them in the store.

Sunday Alex worked, so Turner and I went to church.  I did come home to a clean house, thank you Alex!  Sundays are for lounging so that's exactly what we did.  After a few hours couped up in our apartment, I had to get out so I headed to Round Rock's antique mall which I could probably spend an entire day in.  I enjoy walking through and getting furniture and decoration ideas for our future home.  No room in my apt to buy anything, which is good on my wallet, but I really want a house to decorate.  Sunday we did some bulk Sam's shopping, HEB grocery shopping, and ended the night with a swim in our apt pool.  Very successful weekend spent with my men.

Beautiful 20 drawer oak chest.

What did you do this weekend?

Best kept secret

I'm going to share Abilene's best kept secret that I discovered yesterday after work.  I drive down Butternut St. everyday to work, and yesterday I decided to stop in this tiny antique store that's in an old house.  Oh my goodness, I seriously found the BEST antique store in Abilene.  The owner has amazing taste, and the best part is the prices are very reasonable!  There were too many things I wanted, so I ended up leaving with nothing.

Buffet: $145

Vintage Horses: $22 (I had these as a child and can't wait to have these in my kid's room)

Silver Tray = Amazing  $15 - Getting this for my jewelry

$12-$15 perfectly white and chic

Glass Jars: $12-$20
Vintage Suitcases: $22 a piece

Thank you Clutter Antiques for showing me some of the most amazing treasures.  These pictures don't do the store justice, so go by and take a look!
