Tear, tear. I took these pictures of Hope a couple of weeks ago when I still lived in Abilene, and I miss the daily inspiration Hope gives me when it comes to styling.   I'm in love with this bold/primary color outfit, and her over-the-knee boots pull every outfit together. 

 Happy Friday! Alex and I are off to north texas to visit family for a late Christmas celebration.

Mele Kalikimaka

This is officially my last week in Abilene!  I had a relaxing weekend, and found myself watching tv way too much.  It was so weird not having to think about school. Friday, friends and I enjoyed a bon-fire in the freezing cold.  Of course we had to make s’mores,and then Hope decided she wanted to make some popcorn the old fashioned way.  Let’s just say the Jiffy Pop did not turn out like she planned, it was pretty much our entertainment the whole night.  Saturday I did some Christmas shopping at a few antique stores in Abilene, which is always an adventure.  I ended up finding the most amazing dress.  It was a size 8 so I thought it would be too big, but I forget how tiny women were back in the day. The night ended perfectly with friends watching Christmas Vacation. “You couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant!” Sunday I attended my church for the last time as a member : (, and the rest of the day was spent in sweatpants.

Hope - Outfit #10


Don't you just love Hope's boots?  She has quite the challenge finding the perfect pair of shoes since she wears a size 5. I'm lucky I don't have that problem, but trying to find a 7 1/2 in a sale rack is never easy since everyone seems to wear that size.  Sometimes I wish I wore a size 10 in shoes, because you always see tons of shoes in the size 10 sale section that haven't been touched!

Hope - Outfit #9

I love Hope's jean on jean outfit here...probably one of the most comfortable outfits.  As we were going to take pics we locked ourselves out of the house, so we ended up just doing them in the yard...haha. I'm going to miss my little model when I move to Austin, but I don't think she'll miss the modeling in our backyard.

Hope - Outfit #8

Hope is back, well at least for a week. She's here and there as she travels around Texas to recruit kids to HSU. In her down time she actually gets to shop at real malls, I'm jealous. My wardrobe is getting pretty thin especially since fall is coming around. Here's to more cute outfits from Hope. Let's hope we can all look this cute at work!

Hope - Outfit #7

Thank goodness the weekend + labor day is almost here! I will be heading down to Austin to celebrate a bachelorette as well as hang out with family and friends.  Unfortunately, Miss Hope has to work on Labor day : ( because at HSU, they won't let the students take off in fear that freshman won't return. I know newbies, college is scary. Luckily, they have Hope to keep them coming back!

Stay in school

Hope is now on the grind, working 8-5 like the rest of us graduates. I want to shake the incoming freshman at HSU like Billy Madison, and say "Stay in school as long as possible!"  I guess it is wise to graduate on time when it comes to money, but man the real world stinks sometimes.

Four Eyes

Hope is searching for new glasses, so she decided to go with the easy choice of Warby Parker: 5 home try-on pairs for free. Man, sometimes I wish I had vision problems just so I could own a pair. I guess I'll have to save the glasses for my elderly years. Which pair do you like the best? 

P.S. - Hope is sadly leaving my office to go work as a recruiter for good 'ole HSU. It's a happy and sad week for us. Requirements for the new intern position include:

1.) Must be willing to sacrifice your lunch for a photo shoot

2.) Must be able to complete a 30 second mail run: in and out of the post office

3.) Be quick to file, so they never end up on my desk

4.) Know what I’m thinking so I don’t have to say it out loud and suffer from my “foot in mouth” disease

5.) Think I’m funny and laugh at all my jokes

5'0 "Model"

Hi, it’s Hope.  Sorry to disappoint if you were expecting pictures of someone a little taller with shorter hair.  For some reason, Jesse decided to use me as her model.  When she first tried convincing me of this, I was a little hesitant.  And I still am.  But obviously, Jesse has a way of talking me into really anything.  But there’s no need to go into those stories.  Well, here I am – I guess I wear these clothes around so it’s not that big of a deal to let her post them on the internet and pretend like you care to see them, right?  Yeah, I’ll just keep telling myself that.
