Casual Peplum

Meet my new favorite tee! I have loved the peplum trend, but haven't been able to find the right length or material till I struck gold with this top. The best part about it is I can stuff my face with food and my belly has all the space in the world.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it in every color.

True story about the purse I'm carrying.  Alex gave it to me for my birthday, 7 months ago, but last weekend I finally decided to use it.  Honestly, it sat so beautifully in my closet, untouched that I didn't want to carry it for the longest time.  I waited for the perfect spring day to change purses.

DIY Entry Table

Here is our latest project.  A DIY entry table that cost us less than $45!  Most of the supplies we already had, so it cost even less.  I needed a table for our entryway, and couldn't decide between an industrial style table or a more traditional piece.  Originally, this table was going to be one solid color, but I found inspiration through Decor Evolution's Instagram account for the two toned look.

Alex and I have become a great team when it comes to home projects.  Alex builds it, and I paint it.  I'm very lucky he enjoys building so much.  Next project on the list is a farmhouse table for our deck.

Casual Monday

I've decided Mondays should be the new casual Friday.  I feel much more enthusiastic about dressing up on Friday compared to Monday. Monday, I roll out of bed mourning my weekend is over, therefore all I want to wear are jeans.  So today that is exactly what I did.  I dressed them up with my favorite pair of oxfords and a fun pair of socks.

Pink Shoes & A Trip to Target

Y'all...I have been to Target almost every night this week.  In my defense, I've been on the hunt for these bar stools (trying to return for a different size), and sure enough they are completely sold out.  But of course I had to make my way slowly around the entire store touching everything as I walk by all while eating my soft pretzel and drinking an icee (that's my happy place).  Anyway, I was in shock at how many cute pieces they had for fall.  Here are a few items I tried on, and who knew my hot pink flats would go with everything.  I ended up walking away with nothing, but if any of these go on sale, they're mine!

Have you made a fabulous Target purchase lately? If so, what did you get? I'd love to see! Next week I'll show you some more of my favorite pieces from Target!

Just a reminder

Alex was sweet enough to take me to the Austin Rodeo last Thursday to see Josh Turner.  What a date....me screaming at the top of my lungs, "Take it off! I love you Josh!" Ok, there was no I love you, but I definitely yelled take it off a couple of times.  Josh Turner is probably one of my favorite country singers, other than George Straight and Garth Brooks.   Yes, I grew up listening to country, and I will forever love it.  I actually met George Straight at a high school rodeo that I was working at with my dad when I was 12 years old (Awesome? Yes)!

After screaming through Josh's first few songs, he began to play one of my favorites, Long Black Train.  The second that song came on I went from happy hands clapping crazy lady, to teary eyed emotional lady.  I hear that song and it reminds me of an exact time in my life...the exact month, the exact days, and where I was when I listened to it over and over again.  I went through a rough break-up early in college, and I was growing spiritually and trying to hang on tight to God's word. This song made my journey so much better.  I remember bawling in my car singing along, and trying to sing in that low soothing deep voice, haha, definitely wasn't hitting the notes.  But it didn't matter because that song meant so much to me, and it brought me such joy and comfort.  I love hearing songs on the radio that remind me of a good time in my life, and even the bad times because ultimately I made it through it and everything turned out ok.
