Making Family Memories at Hawaiian Falls

Being an Aunt is one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given. I have 5 nieces and 1 nephew, and thankfully they all live within 2 hours from me.  I'll be honest and say that I might know one or two of their birth dates. Whoops! Every summer we celebrate my niece Ella's birthday, and this year we headed to Hawaiian Falls in Plflugerville to celebrate her 6th!

2015 Recap

I did a recap post last year of 2014 which included some of my favorite moments, posts & events.  I really enjoyed looking back at all the wonderful things that had happened, so I'm doing the same for 2015. Turner truly blossomed this year, and it was an absolute joy watching him learn and grow. Now we've hit the "Threenager" stage, which has been MUCH harder than him being 2.

I am thankful for this blog, and the friendships and partnerships it has helped me to create. I have connected with so many amazing women bloggers in Austin and truly value our friendship. I've been able to partner with some great companies and brands on different projects, and I'm excited for what the future holds for this blog. I have a full-time marketing job, and this blog will always take second priority to that, but I'm thankful for this blog allowing me to be creative and pursue my passions. I know many don't understand blogging, and don't take it seriously but I could talk your ear off all day on why you should start a blog.

JANUARY
  • Started BuiltWell as a fun side project. We don't do very many projects anymore because we're usually busy with our own, but every once in a while Alex will build a custom piece for someone.

    28

I had an amazing weekend!  The weather was perfect, and Alex and I spent quality time with our little man.

Friday, Alex and I took off of work to celebrate my 28th birthday.  I started my day with a massage, we had lunch at my favorite restaurant Perry's Steakhouse (pork chop Friday), and saw Gone Girl all before 5:30pm.  That night I celebrated with friends at The Domain's newest bar, Punch Bowl Social

Saturday, I did some early morning thrifting, and later headed out to the "Touch a Truck" event in Round Rock.  Turner was in heaven.  That night Turner and I went on a little date to Old Navy and Barnes & Noble. Oh the beautiful books! I wanted to buy every Christmas book.

Sunday, Turner had his 1st haircut at a salon (our home buzz cuts aren't the best).  After, we stopped by Lowe's to buy some materials for our next BuiltWell project, then spent a few hours playing outside.  Turner and I "napped" on a picnic blanket in the front yard, and I could not have asked for a prettier day.

What Turner does when I say, "Touch your toes!"
Did you do anything special this weekend?  I'll be traveling to Chicago early tomorrow morning for 3 days for work, and I'm super excited. I'm not sure I'm ready for the cold weather.
