Weekend Shopping Trip

I took a quick trip to the Domain this past Saturday to grab a pair of earrings and knew I wanted to stop at Zara and Forever 21. I fell in love with almost EVERYTHING I tried on and snapped a few photos of my outfits. I spent about 2 hours total and only went in those two stores.

Love at First Sight

I fell in love with this Express skirt months and months ago, and have been patiently waiting for it to go on major sale.  I gave up on it a while back, but the other day I happened to stop in Express to look for some work clothes when I spotted it on the clearance rack.  Of course they were out of my size, and I almost cried to an employee. I was walking out of the store when I thought..."Heck, let me just try on a different size and hope for the best." Well, sure enough, it fit! A bit snug...the type of snug where eating a full meal and sitting hurts, but I will make it work. I don't dress up too often, even on a girls night, so I thought the only occasion I'll have to wear it is a wedding. One of my friends from college got married this past weekend, and thankfully it was warm enough to wear this outfit.  I did feel my look was not fall appropriate and a tad out of my comfort zone with the skin showing, but I took the risk.  I bought the top last minute at Forever 21 for $5!

Hot & Cold

It's that time of year in Texas when it's freezing in the morning (which is 55 degrees to me) and warm in the afternoon.  I can vividly remember the days back in middle school when I would get so annoyed that I had to bring my down jacket in the morning and by 3pm I was lugging it home on the bus.  I wasn't sure this morning if I should wear tights or bare my white legs in the cold morning air.  Well, as you can see I didn't wear tights, and for the first few seconds of sitting down on my car's leather seats it was excruciating.  Thank goodness for full blast heaters.  Yes, I am a baby, and I don't do cold weather.    How do you do it Northerners!?

A Little Window Shopping

A friend asked me on Instagram the other day if I go shopping everyday due to all of my shopping outfit posts.  I laughed because I honestly don't buy a lot of clothes, but I do like to window shop.  I've never been a fan of online shopping. I want to try on the clothes, feel the fabrics and textures.  I'm one of those that walks through a store and has her entire arms full by the time I'm halfway through. I like to try EVERYTHING on.  That being said, most people don't like shopping w/me unless you've got some comfy shoes on and you can skip a meal.  This started at a young age for me.  I lived about 35 minutes away from a mall, so my Mom would take us shopping at the beginning of every season, and we would shop from the time the mall opened till it closed.  Great memories.  I have a feeling Turner is not going to enjoy window shopping.  I seriously need a girl.

How do you like to shop? Online? In Stores? Or do you like to shop at all?

L to R - Clockwise

Forever 21 Tee - I did buy this super comfy tee for $10. I live in t-shirts on the weekend.

Liz Claiborne Vest - JcPenney $48

Old Navy Sweatshirt - $20 Love the sequins! Put a cute patterned button down under this and boom.

H&M Faux Leather Skirt - $30 I have been on the hunt for a pleather skirt, but have yet to find one long enough to feel comfortable.  Seems the only ones I can find are for girls going clubbing or for ladies not intending to bend over and pick up a baby.

Me...taking pictures of myself in front of a mirror. Yeah, haven't gotten around to taking any legitimate outfit pics, so these will have to do.

Sad but true story - Last Saturday Alex and I went on a "date", which involved P. Terry's for dinner and a trip to Academy. Alex threw on his normal get up, and I proceeded to have a dance party by myself in the bathroom where I got all dolled up. I put on a dress, heels and even straightened my hair. I walked in to the living room, and Alex just started laughing. I guess I was a bit overdressed, but geez I needed to get out of the boring jeans I had been wearing all week. Another reason, I don't fit in to any of my clothes except a few dresses. I've had to buy 2 pairs of jeans to get me through this stage till I can lose the baby weight.

Faux Fur

I'm aware the faux fur vest is a trend of last year, but I'm glad it's making an appearance again this fall/winter.  I wish Texas winters would actually get cold enough where I could pull off one of these vests more than just a few times a year. How do you feel about the trend? My problem is finding the right fur. It's hard to find an affordable piece that doesn't look like a poodle or rat's nest.
