Ready For Spring - Walt & Whitney Update

I'm SO excited Spring is here! Warmer days and longer nights to play outside! Everyday when I pick Walt and Whitney up from school, I let them run around in our front yard for an hour or so. I have to keep my eye on Whitney the most because she will eat rocks, dirt, trash and leaves like it's the yummiest dessert she's ever had. She also enjoys discovering ant piles...God help me.

Walt & Whitney: 10 Months

To my little ding dongs...that's what I like to call them these days. What a month it's been! Their personalities are hilarious to watch. Whitney is stoic and doesn't crack a smile easily, but when she does it's the sweetest thing. Walt is my goofball and laughs at anything I do.

Life lately:

  • STOP the sickness! I don't remember a day I haven't given one of them antibiotics in the past 6 weeks.
  • I took a new job and life has been insane! I've doubled my commute, and I have much more work to do during the day. I leave work at 4, get home just in time to pick them up by 5 and it's a $%&# show till about 8pm. However, I love my job!
  • Alex and I took a mini-vacation to Houston for my 30th and it was the best! Much needed time away from kiddos, where we could actually talk and eat in peace. My in-laws drove down from Dallas to watch all three!

Sunday Style + Thoughts On Finally Getting Back to Church

It happened...we finally made it to church! It only took 8 months! I've missed it so much, but nap time always seemed to coincide with it and I was too anxious about getting us all there. Any mamas experience this?!

Walt & Whitney's First Shoes - Freshly Picked Moccasins

Can you believe that Walt and Whitney have NEVER worn shoes until this point?! There are tons of baby moccasins around these days, but Freshly Picked was the first one on the market. I've followed FP for years and have always wanted a pair for my kiddos! I loved seeing Susan on Shark Tank and have enjoyed following her business's journey.  Since I won't ever have any more babies I knew this was my final chance to try them out and I've got to say...I'm SOLD! I've drunk the koolaid and I'm a fan forever. Why you ask?

Walt & Whitney Summer Style - Love Factory New York

A few months ago I met my friend Stephanie for lunch and her adorable baby girl was wearing the cutest bonnet. She told me about the company Love Factory New York, which all of the items are handmade by a woman named Rie. I immediately reached out hoping to collaborate. A few weeks later Rie sent me these adorable outfits for Walt and Whitney.

Kids Style: My Second Hand Secret

As a lover of fashion, I also enjoy dressing up my kiddos. I've learned over the past few years that buying second hand is a game changer when it comes to my budget. I've been able to buy and sell clothes using thredUP and it has saved me a ton! When I go shopping on their site, I choose my favorite brands to search through...usually Gap, Old Navy, Mini Boden and Carter's. Everything I've ever ordered has been super high quality, so I know I'm getting a great deal.

My Favorite Baby Bibs

Walt and Whitney have been teething like crazy the past month and my love of bandana bibs has grown! For some reason I had not discovered these when Turner was a baby, but I'm now obsessed.  I had bought two 4-packs of Matimati bibs before the babies were born and I find myself going through them like crazy so I recently ordered 2 more packs.

How To Stage the Perfect Baby Milestone Photo

As a mom who knows how fast time flies when raising a child, I want to capture every moment and every month my babies grow. And as a lover of blogging and Instagram, I've learned how to take simple yet fun baby photos. When I look back on their milestone photos, I absolutely love seeing their physical transformation (as sad as it is to see them grow). Today I want to share with you how I stage the perfect photo, and all of these photos were taken with my iPhone.  This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Favorite Baby Bow + Headband Shops

When I found out I was having a girl, I literally jumped with joy. I've spent years buying cute girl clothes for my nieces, and I was soooo excited that I would finally have my own little girl to dress up. I was never a fan of GIANT bows, but I've found some modern bow and headband shops thanks to Instagram and Etsy. Here are a few of my favorites!

Simple Style

Then there was that Sunday in Texas where it was almost 80 degrees, and then two days later work was delayed due to an ice storm. My body and wardrobe don't know what to do right now. Every night after work I have to take a hot bath to defrost.  It was absolutely wonderful getting to enjoy the warm weather last weekend.  We played at the park, cleaned out the garage, washed our cars and ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

These jeans are my absolute favorite.  I've had them for over 6 years, and at times they've been tight (pregnancy) and other times very loose.  You can usually find me wearing them every weekend.  I hope Turner likes to shop with me, because right now I am absolutely loving getting him dressed up.  My heart still drops when I see the girls section at Target, but it is so cute to see Turner look like a little old man in some of his outfits. Simple and classic would describe our style together.  Now we just need to get Alex on board.  His retailer of choice for fine apparel is Sam's or Costco.  Yes, my husband seriously shops there.  He's never been one to care about fashion, so I'm usually the one that buys his clothes.  It's a work in progress.
