23 Weeks {Twins}

Maternity Countdown tee

How Far Along: 23 weeks (P.S. I'm posting these a week late so I can give you a full update of how I felt during that actual week)

Babies Genders: Boy AND Girl

Things to Note:
- Realized that we NEED a ton more diapers (we have 2 boxes we received from friends). I can only imagine what our grocery bill is going to turn in to once we add in diapers (and formula if we have to).

- Was sick most of the week and still am with some type of sinus/respiratory infection or could be due to allergies. I'm not 100% sure, but all I know is that having a cough while carrying twins SUCKS! So painful.

Nursery: Currently on week 3 of the One Room Challenge. I realized I only have about 2 weeks to pull the whole nursery together because the 5th week I'll be out of town for work, and the 6th week is for final photos and the big reveal. I'm kind of freaking out thinking of the last minute things I still need to get.  See what I've done so far on my Week 2 post.

Symptoms:
- My stomach is tightening a lot, especially when running errands, walking or exercising.

- Feeling kicks in the morning, lunchtime and evening when I sit down, but I don't feel double the kicks. I always wonder who is doing the kicking.

- I tried to nap in the passenger seat of my van while Alex drove us home from a weekend trip, but it didn't go so well. It was painful to bend my side and try to lean against my pillow, so I had to sit straight forward and try to sleep...no fun.

Exercise: N/A, too sick

Clothing: Going back and forth between fall and summer clothes. I've worn heels out to a few events and people seem surprised, but they either very LOW or wedges. Dressing up at least once a week makes me happy ; )

Cravings:
- Salty snacks, Mexican food, burgers.

- Last week I made Alex run to McDonald's at 8pm to grab me a large fry and coke. McDonald's coke is sooo much better than any other coke, and the those salty fries are heaven!

39 Weeks

4 days! I have the lyrics of, "It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!", in my head at all times.  Last week my midwife told me she expected me to go in to labor either early or on time, but I'm sticking with my original guess that he's going to make a late appearance.  I'm working from home this week, since I don't want to get stuck in major traffic if I happen to go in to labor during rush hour. The birthing center is literally about 4 minutes from our apartment, and we've got the pilates ball blown up. It's go time : )

38 Weeks

9 days. We're in the single digits now! I'm getting very anxious to have this baby. I thought my massage last weekend would help move along the process, but I guess I'm just going to have to sit tight and be patient.  No symptoms really, just braxton-hicks contractions more often. I kind of had a freak out moment last week, when I realized I haven't read or prepared in any way for labor. I mean there's only so much a book can teach you, but I still feel like I could have done some relaxation exercises or something along the way.  However, I did prepare my padsicles ; ) If you don't want know what those are, I'll spare you the details.

Treat Yo Self Weekend 2012

Alex and I celebrated "Treat Yo Self Weekend 2012" this past weekend since it might be the last one we have just the two of us. Yes, we will go on vacations and dates without little Turner in the future, but we'll still be parents.

L to R:
- Started Friday night off @ Jack Allen's new location in Round Rock...Amazing! Followed by a movie (took everything w/in me NOT to buy popcorn and an Icee)
- Saturday began w/cinnamon rolls, then Body Pump, and followed by a massage
- Treating ourselves at the mall
- Couldn't pass up treating myself to a cookie...or 3
- Tried P. Terry's for the first time  ($12 isn't bad for dinner for 2)
- In pretty good spirits after we both had massages
- Catching a foot on camera
- Sunday started w/church and was followed by Gospel Brunch at Stubb's BBQ

This past weekend was absolutely wonderful. Cool weather, relaxation, experiencing new things in Austin, and enjoying time with my breast friend...I mean best friend. I like to call Alex that sometimes. Treating ourselves was fun, but we still kept our budget in mind.  We definitely didn't treat ourselves to EVERYTHING we wanted. I still order water no matter where we go to save $, and I passed up MANY things in Nordstrom that I was drooling over. Who knows, we might just have one more weekend just the two of us, but if not this was a great one to end on.

Baby bump

I'm 37 weeks today (behind on the pics), so I'm officially full-term. Turner could come at any moment, but I have a feeling he's going to come a week late ; ).  I'm loving my big belly right now, and for some reason I want to take a pic of it every chance I get.  I know in just a few short weeks it won't be there, and instead I'll have a living/breathing baby, crazy.

Hello Creeper

Alex and I had a great weekend here in Austin running errands, eating out and relaxing before our weekends change drastically.  Friday we went dancing with friends, which I have missed so much since moving from Abilene. Two-stepping is a part of my soul, and I love putting on my boots and shuffling across a saw dust dance floor.  Later in the night we walked to some bars on dirty 6th, and I had an interesting conversation with a guy when Alex went to the bar to grab me a glass of water;

Creeper: Hey, come talk to me (motions for me to come over to his table)
Me: Umm, no. (as I rub my belly)
Creeper: Oh! Is the Dad in the picture?
Me: Yep (I point to Alex as he's walking back to the table)
Creeper: Whoa....he's f&*$@*? HUGE!
(He then proceeds to tell me how scared I should be for labor, because my baby is going to be huge)

I tell Alex never to leave me by myself at a bar, because I always get approached by the creepiest guys. Not the cute, well-groomed guys...just the weirdos.

L to R:
- Ready to go dancing
- Red corduroys I couldn't pass up for Turner
- Working an event for work..."Yes, I'm pregnant. Would you like a margarita?"
- Decorating the apartment for Halloween, my favorite holiday!

34 Weeks

I can now say "next month" I will be having this baby. Exciting : )  Turner is unfortunately still not head down, and most days he is in a transverse (sideways) position.  Alex and I got some weird looks last week when we went to the pool, and I did handstands for about 15 minutes (10 seconds at a time) in the water. Alex was there to hold my ankles and keep me up...haha. It's hard enough breathing normally, so under water I was trying not to freak out when all of my blood was rushing to my head. Turner of course didn't move one bit.

He is moving around like an alien now (because I know how aliens move), and it's becoming a bit painful when a foot or elbow stabs me in the side. But honestly I enjoy it, because it's a little reminder of  "Hey Mom, I'm still here!"

Did I mention how much I love Craigslist. Alex and I bought a glider a few months back on a whim because it was in our price range, but once we got it home it wasn't as comfortable as we thought.  We instantly regretted our decision, but felt stuck. Then at Target on Sunday, I found a white wood glider with gray fabric and fell in love with the style and comfort. So, I went home and instantly put our glider back on sale on to Craigslist, and by the next day I had it sold for the original amount we had bought it for. It's kind of crazy how fast Craigslist works, and the thousands of people that are searching for particular items everyday.

32 Weeks

"Get in my belly!!!", actually it's rather the opposite when it comes to the baby, but I find myself saying that a phrase a lot. It's usually when I'm talking to my food. I've been dreaming about 1/2 Coke 1/2 Cherry Icee's constantly, and I don't think I've gone a week without having one the past few months. Terrible? Yes. Amazing? Yes.

This baby is almost 4 lbs and 17 inches long. I am definitely beginning to feel the effects of pregnancy. Mainly a stiff back in the morning and tired/swollen feet at the end of my work day, but I'm not complaining! I'm ready to be the big lady waddling to and from...that just means I'm closer to meeting my future child. Wow...I'm going to have a kid, that's weird. I hope he's ready for one crazy Mom & Dad.

Love-Hate Relationship

Anyone else tired of the sheer clothing fad? I pretty much don't buy anything that I have to wear a shirt underneath. Recently though I've been drawn to maxi dresses due to their stretch and coolness in the summer. The problem is most of them have very thin fabric, and I've had to purchase a full slip to wear underneath.  I fell in love with my silk slip until I stood in the sun for 5 minutes.

28 Weeks

I'm officially in the third trimester of this pregnancy!  I'm still feeling great, and have officially gained 15 pounds. I haven't been eating very healthy (this baby loves butterfingers & Coke Icees), but I continue to exercise. I've had to stop my Zumba classes due to the bouncing, but I'm enjoying my morning walks and weekly Body pump class.  I'll dedicate a post later to working out while pregnant, because I believe it is extremely important. I'm hoping it will make my labor go much smoother.

Alex's boss got this for us at the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino.  Alex is a bit obsessed w/his Apple products.

Maternity Inspiration

I've scheduled a maternity photo session for September 8th when I'll be 34 weeks pregnant, and I'm currently in the process of trying to prepare my outfits.  Planning my engagement photo outfits was stressful enough. Now I have to guesstimate how big my belly will be in 6 weeks. I found the non-maternity dress below in a cute shop in Fredericksburg, but couldn't bring myself to spend $125 on it. I think it would be perfect for an outside, natural styled photo shoot, but I'm not sure how often I would wear it after.

Here's some inspiration I have for my session.

I would love to do an intimate session inside a simple white room, but unfortunately I don't have it in my budget to do two shoots, and not enough time in Dallas. Anyone need to add some maternity portraits to their portfolio ; ) ?

Big weekend plans? The only thing we have planned is a wedding on Saturday 2 hours south. Thankfully Alex has a DD for 9 months (only 3 left to go).

13 Weeks

Well, I'm 13 weeks...actually 14 weeks on Wednesday, but who's counting. Ok, maybe me.  I always wondered why pregnant women talked in "week" lingo, but then I realized how important every single week means in pregnancy.  My belly is really not as big as it is in the picture, but I took it at the end of the day meaning my food accumulated right above my lady parts because it had no where else to go.  Not being able to go to the bathroom can cause a cute unpleasant pregnant belly.

When I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted track every week through a photo, so I took inspiration from Christine from Simply Bloom Photography.  Not really inspiration, I pretty much just copied her. Although, Alex and I aren't professional photographers so these pictures won't be as great. They will still be special even if I have a horrible shadow cast on me, and I look uber washed out.

I bought this stretchy dress for $10 in a size too big hoping that it will stretch as I sttttrrreeetttccchhh.

Baby Mama

Surprise! Just call me Mama Coulter : )  I'm excited to finally announce that I'm pregnant and due October 19.  More to come, but be prepared for many Baby Mama references.

Yep! I have a child growing inside me. Great success.

Just preparing for how big my belly will be.
